I've heard but "don't tell anybody" he might play with the Stones again...by the way the man with the white hair is the guitarist of the earing ;o)

Golden Earring will always be Golden to me because they once gave me their backstage passes to see Rush perform in Kansas City Missouri.

They were the warmup band and I was a young teenager who had travelled to see Rush without tickets and was dejectedly walking around the auditorium to get back home (100 miles away), after being turned down at every entrance.

They came out the back door laughing and cutting up,, I explained my predicament to them and they ripped their stick on passes off their legs and handed them to me and my friend. Whoo Hoo.

One minute a sad kid 100 miles from home, the next sitting backstage at eating cake and ice cream with Alex and Getty. What a Rush. Are you listening Max? Perhaps I've told this story before. peace

GREAT STORY NL!!! ..... but nope I had not heard that one yet... but it is a gooder. Facts be known I have never been even back stage, in all 1000-1500 my concerts....The closest we ever came to back stage was at the Stones show at Nijmegen in The Netherlands and we had level 1.. or maybe it was level zero back stage (the lowest security clearance)... of course it was no where near the Rattlesnake inn, but it did get us free beer in tent next to Robert Cray's trailor.... the best thing about it, was at show time we were up front, protected, in the area in front of a barricade seperating us from the hoard of 80,000 people (30,000?)(whats the difference?) with 200-300 other people.... it was amazingly lucky... and did I mention free beer... free good beer.

I always like Golden Earring well enough... but I never saw them live.
