Very sad, indeed. Thinking of Ray Davies' tragic song of divorce, "Property" from The Kinks in 1983:

"Now that it's all over, now that you and I are free
Now there's nothing left except the bit of property
Started off with nothing, started off just you and me
Now that it's all over you can keep the property

And all the little gifts we thought we'd throw away
The useless souvenirs bought on a holiday
We put them on a shelf, now they're collecting dust
We never needed them, but they outlasted us"

Reading between the lines, it seems clear that all this stuff was in Jo's
possession after the (quicky) divorce. In other words, she got this particular
house and its contents (without a time-consuming inventory and valuation ever being
done), and so its Jo that's running this liquidation. I don't think Ronnie has
anything to do with it. Yes, he could probably fight to have his name taken off
the sale, but I don't think he really minds Jo making a few extra bucks this way.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Ronnie had the right of first refusal, at
fair market value, and purchased a few near and dear items back from Jo prior
to this auction catalogue being put together.

This won't win me any friends here, but looking through all those possessions makes me think how out of touch MOST rock stars are with their fans. Yes, they work hard in the beginning (not hard compared to a construction worker) but when they reach this stage of wealth and do you really think they give a shit about rock and roll? About taking creative risks? It's no wonder the Stones have largely sucked since 1981. Insulated by country estates and bad decor.

We need another Sex Pistols. We mean it, MAN.

Some pretty cool Stones stuff starts on page 150.

If this is not Ronnie doing this auction, then I wonder... ah...
I dont know... none of my business... still feels pretty sad.

Anyway... Cool Stones stuff starts on page 150.

It's my understanding that all of these items are Jo's.

I thought "Perv On This" was Revvy's play on "Slide On This." The "Perv" part being the fact that all of us are looking at someone else's belongings. Whether legitimately auctioned or not, it does feel a bit like we're peeping tom's. Mind you that painting of Jo nude with a penis drawn on always made me feel a bit creepy, too. I think it was also in THE WORKS.

That´s not one of his more used strats on stage, and it´s not one of his hardtails. I think i´ve never seen him play that one live, but i might be wrong.

I hope the Stones stop the sale of their property. One could say Jo was really bad for Ronnie and she continues to @#$%& with him. She had her luxury now she should chill.

If its Ronnie selling his things, that doesn't bode well for a future tour.

I don't get that argument. He would need a tour to make money.

The price range on some of the Stones swag is interesting. You can tell it was valued by an estate auction appraiser. A few of the items they probably feel is junk, I would assume would sell at a much higher bid. At least to a RS fan.

Although there is some uber expensive stuff, all the flatware is silver plate instead of sterling. How tacky.
