GG Allin would've just crapped on the stage--then he would've been given as much time as he would have liked, whereas to clean up a smashed guitar it only takes as long as it takes to break it... and besides, isn't Billy Joe a bit old for such a temper tantrum as that? I mean, is he 40 or is he just 14 (in his head)?

You are only as old as you feel!

If you are 40 and up, try saying that to any woman 25 and under, and you'll feel pretty old pretty fast.

Shouldn't he wear a watch in order to keep within the time frame? How does one blame a clock? Time is presented eveywhere. I just can't emphathize with someone who can't tell time.

Million dollar rich lead singer in MTV style punk band playing at pop fest Las Vegas, making a scene over the time restricts, yet going off stage at the time they're supposed to. Oh, them rebels

Very true. The lack of genuine rebellion is reminiscent of Keith lighting-up at the 02. These childlike ‘Rock Stars’, Geeez.

I found that quite amusing, and satisfying, however small a gesture.

Were you there?

Green Day's website apologised to fans who were offended.

It said: "We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short.

The Stones were always fine with time constraints on their 'festival' style tours.

Billy should look into some tetracyclic antidepressants...or at the very least ritalin.

Wouldn't hurt his career a bit. He's the one doing that...

Thats why I hate puck music. All BS. All fake. It has nothing to do with rebellion etc. It has to do with a*&holes not knowing how to play. Stupid music by stupid people.

But green day isn't punk. They're everything that the real punks would have despised.

It is a crock of crap. My friend worked the show and said GD was slotted for 45 Minutes and played less than 30.

Looks like the (corporate run) web site is just trying to make excuses with the re-hab thing and all that.

Here's my theory.

Their set was cut by 15 minutes but they knew in advance.

So when the clock at the back showed "2 MINUTES" Billy Joe stopped what they were playing (how many times has Green Day ever done that I wonder) and started his "showtime" theatrics.

That and a new album and a viral internet video.

"Great" PR.

Couldn't express my thoughts any better. It looks as real and "authentic" as Tom Cruise's Rock of Ages (nope, I didn't watch that turd but the trailer is silly enough).

Just News Googled Green Day - their website is horrible! It looks like a 7 year old kid designed their site.

Rep: Green Day's Armstrong getting treatment

NEW YORK (AP) -- Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong is headed to treatment for
substance abuse.

Sunday's announcement by the band's rep comes after the 40-year-old frontman had a
meltdown onstage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Friday. As Green
Day was wrapping up its performance during the all-star, two-day concert, Armstrong
profanely complained that the band's time was being cut short.

So we can add another rock star cliche to the "meltdown" one: rehab.

He's in rehab? Must be from all those years of just using major chords.

I seem to remember Bill Graham at Live Aid prompting various performers (can"t recall which though) to wrap up their sets soon by pointing at his wristwatch.
No performer had a fit. (Maybe it was just so damn hot that everyone wanted to get off the stage.)

Absolutely true. I just watched the whole "speech" here: [www.iorr.org] and I have heard more "F" words than during the last ten years I think. My ears hurt. Pathetic PR move.
