I believe his stepfather is responsible for the design of this grave marke, but I don't believe the lyrics written by Gram with Emmylou Harris, in
"In My Hour Of Darkness" are anything Gram wrote about himself and I don't think Gram was 'just a country boy"

and his songs were intentionally not 'simple'

I believe Gram wrote those lyrics about Keith

listen to the song, the first verse is about Clarence White and his early tragic death

the second verse I believe is about his friend Keith Richards

'and another young man..safely strung..his silver string guitar..''

clearly a different subject

Ha ha! That's great, I didn't notice the eerie resemblance to cryogenics until your comment!

The other verse is about the child star, Brandon De Wilder, who starred in Shane. He was also a friend of GP's. 'Once I knew a young man who went driving in the night".

I think you need to listen to the song. The first verse about the car accident is about Brandon De Wilder and the second verse is about Clarence White. It's obviously not about Keith as it's written in the past tense...

batcave- my humble apologies- I got an incorrect notion and stuck to it, but you are right. its good to get it straight, somehow I thought the 1st verse was about CW...

great song in any case, now I listen to it with the right reference

FWIW the third verse is referring to Sid Kaiser, a friend and confidante to GP, who additionally helped Gram score.
