Fingerprint File - what a funky closer.

I also like Slipping Away, Sleep Tonight, and Salt of The Earth

I'd have to go with You Can't Always Get What You Want from let It Bleed.
Honorable mention:
Moonlight Mile - SF
Waiting On A Friend - TY
Shattered - SG
Fingerprint File - IORR
Jig-Saw Puzzle - BB
Soul Survivor - EOMS

I just don't think you can beat YCAGWYW its one of their all time great songs.

Moonlight Mile - for me, too.
For second place, I really can't decide between "Soul Survivor" or "You Can't Always Get What You Want".

My vote goes to Moonlight Mile.

I also like Star Star, it's kind of refreshing to have a rocker as the last song on an album, especially on a record as mellow as GHS.

I suppose Soul Survivor also qualifies as a great rocking closer, but it kind of gets in the shadow behind the rest of Exile. As good as Soul Survivor is, it mostly just repeats things that have been done earlier on the record, IMO.

lotsa good competition but I'll have to go with the piano track off of Dirty Work.

It's more of a 'relief' thing knowing the album is finally over (not that it's getting a lot of spins in this household).

Many great songs to end an LP (like Shattered, Moonlight Mile, Fingerprint File, Soul Survivor etc.) but somehow Crazy Mama is excellent to end the marvelous Black and Blue album. It sort of gives a hint of what to expect in the following album. After fantastic funky Hey Negrita, jazzy Melody and ballad Fool to Cry it kicks right back into rock and roll. Great album, great song.

Being serious.. The best end track is Moonlight Mile.

Beautifully written, arranged, played and produced.

A great progressive continuation of the mid-late 60's experimental spirit.

Alternatively, he could just play guitar. Lord knows he's had 7 years since the last new Stones album to release however much 'solo' material he wants.

I don't need another Keith ballad on a Stones album. Stop the insanity!

OK, I realize I've overdone it a bit.

But it's a 70s track Phil. Have you lost your mind?

That's how it starts treacle. Be warned. One moment you're dabbling with Moonlight Mile, the next minute you'll be listening to the whole of Sticky Fingers at full blast. And you'll be addicted to the 70s Stones in no time.

Aye, but it's kind of a continuation of the weirdness of 1966 - 1968.

A pity for me that from 1969 onwards they too often went down the more normal rock road instead.

And I nominate "What To Do" since it is the only one not called out so far, I think.
They have surely come up with many, many superb closing moments.
And I got to say this: up until vinyl ended, they usually created great dynamics between the Side 1 closer and the overall closer. Even in CD age I still see them somehow dividing albums into two sides.
