The Beatles could just release the Purple Chick 86 CD collection of Get Back/Let It Be. It could retail for a couple thousand, and be called "The Super Super Super Super Deluxe Get Back: Every Fart, groan, chord, argument, lyric and occasional music recorded by the Beatles in January 1969" Newly remastered, this 86 CD 10 Blu Ray/20 DVD set is sure to impress even the most casual Beatles fan. You'll be there in the Studio with the most famous rock band ever as they record one of their last albums. This set is the end all to end all of Beatles sets. Complete with a 500 Page booklet to describe what your hearing and when you hear it, with new essays from the cameramen, and sound guys. Don't Miss it!

Oh come on. They put it out with the best they had and that was awful enough.

Yeah, I never knew of Traffic's involvement:

Traffic – “Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush” (1m 53s)

- The filming of Traffic acting out their 1967 hit single “Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush” was commissioned by The Beatles for possible inclusion in Magical Mystery Tour but was not used in the final edit.

It has been done for a long time, including a "making of" disc. The problem has always been disagreements within the Beatles camp about when/whether to release it. LIB does not exactly show the band at its best, and some inside the Beatles organization (you can guess who) have stopped the project from moving forward in the past. I happen to know the director and I have checked in with him about this project every few months for the past three or four years.

Awesome! I will definitely have to buy the reissue of Magical Mystery Tour. I also really wish that someone would put out a deluxe DVD, in similar format, of the Stones Their Satanic Majesties Request.

The hero of Martin Amis's new novel LIONEL ASBO has five brothers named John, Paul, George and Ringo...and Stuart. Amis comments on it at video linked here: [link.brightcove.com]

The extras will probably be enough for me to purchase this. The movie itself is dreadful in my opinion. Should be interesting to hear Paul's commentary.

MMT is a fantastic album, and one of the rare Capital tampered release where the US version was better than the UK's. Yeah, they are singles collected, but what singles and B sides! Just Baby Your a Rich Man is work the entire second side! Lennon, while guest DJing on radio said..."I'm gonna play I Am the Walrus. I love it because it is one of mine...(chucking) and MMT is one of my favorite albums because it is so freaky!" I Am the Walrus is a phenomenal psychedelic opera of weirdness and beauty. so much going on in that song, I am sure it was a big influence on Dark Side of the Moon. The laughing, strange droning keyboard, the choir doing the backing vocals fading from channel to channel. And the wonderful mantra of "oompa oompa stick it up your jumpa..." made to sound eerily like "smoke pot, smoke pot, everybody smoke pot!"

I always found Magical Mystery Tour a jolly journey out there of a psychedelic evening but listening to Their Satanic Majesties request could be a bit of a bumpy ride on the, er, trip back, especially during Sing This Song Altogether (See What Happens) and Gomper. smoking smiley

It's perfect as a double EP, but yeah, the US album and it's additional singles just enhances what's already there. The feel of the film and LSD vibe is maintained. thumbs up

Great! I've always loved the sillyness of that film, and the songs "Fool on the Hill" and "I am the Walrus" speak for the themselves (make the film worth it to see).
