their bad boy image and behaviour

All the success might have made them quite cocky.
When Mick calls Charlie
in the middle of the night
and asks “Where is my drummer?”,
well, this is how certain men are.
I don`t think I had reacted the way Charle did,
but if there were tension around,
I could more easily understand Charlie.
When Keith doesn`t remember the first record he bought,
but the first one he STOLE!,
that`s just the way many people are today.
It`s nothing special with that,
apart from being very, very bad.

You need to read Nankering With The Rolling Stones.

They were right bastards WELL before they were successful.

Not an image they cultivated, but one that is imitated by the image concious

I think deep down... the suggestion that they were selfish uncaring bastards (Mick Keith and Brian for sure) is not far off the mark.

The Edith Grove stories are truly horrible.

In the midst of all this, Jerry Hall says that Mick is not an evil person. Btw. I`ve read in Mojo that in the 60s they woke up an owner of a fish and chips store in the middle of the night and wanting some fish and chips. This they get, and Brian Jones starts complaining `bout it being soddy or something.

As far the "image" part of it, I read Ry Cooder say he couldn't stand how Mick projected a dangerous rebel image when he was in fact just a regular bloke.

It's just all part of the act.

It is the absolute lack of understanding of the nature of an artist. Nobody can write STD or MR and perform them on stage as Jagger does and be an ordinary guy in real life. Regular blokes do not cause such an aggressive antipathy from some and hysterical adoration from others at the same time
Really, when Coodere said this - around the 68-69 - the Stones led completely normal life of your regular blokes

Typical of that kunt Brian.

When it comes to the Rolling Stones' bad boy image and behavior, it all starts with Brian Jones. He was basically 'Keith Richards' on steroids, and that was in 1962.
