Charlie Watts solo works

The main works of Charlie if I'm not wrong are :

1981 : Rocket 88
1986 : Live At Fulham Town Hall
1991 : From One Charlie
1992 : A Tribute To Charlie Parker With Strings
1993 : Warm and Tender
1996 : Long Ago And Far Away
2000 : Charlie Watts/Jim Keltner Project
2004 : Watts At Scott’s
2010 : The ABC of Boogie Woogie - The Magic of Boogie Woogie
2012 : The ABC&D of Boogie Woogie - Live In Paris

I don't know for you and if it has already been discussed before, but I'd never really get into each of his jazz solo works.I just think that he wanted to play
what he really want to do since years and have some fun, but his jazz recordings don't get me high confused smiley

Beside this, I like Rocket 88 and indeed everything he has done with the ABC & D smiling bouncing smiley

I only got 'A tribute to Charlie Parker with Strings' and 'Charlie Watts/Jim Keltner Project' in my collection, and on CD.

That Rocket 88 and Live at Fulham Town Hall would be something to reach on LP...

As for the music on my two CDs with Charlie I have to say that I prefer Charlie Parker himself instead...

I've got all except Rocket 88.

Everything is nice to listen, but i think Warm and Tender & Long Ago And Far Away are my favorites. Live at Fulham make me like Jazz music.

There is a missing in your list : Vol pour Sidney (aller) from 1992.
Charlie plays on "Blues in the Cave" & "Laughing in Rhythm".

That's the same for me, I have Warm & Tender and Long Ago on my Ipod Jazz playlist.

The Stones turned me on to a host of other musical genres and my passion for Jazz is down to Charlie.

My favourite Charlie Watts album is Watts at Scotts. Long ago and far away and Warm and tender are beautiful, sentimental records with songs that mean a lot to CW, but he plays very little on them. The Magic of Boogie Woogie swings, the new live album I have not heard yet.

The Boogie 4 Stu might be on the list, not a Charlie's project, but he plays a lot on that record

Elvin Suite is in the top ten best recordings ever made by a Stone alone.

That piece of music alone is worth his whole solo carreer

Absolutely amazing.

I like these 2 ones a lot: "From One Charlie" and "A Tribute To Charlie Parker With Strings". And also the Rocket 88 and the ABC&D stuff! Anyway I think "Warm and Tender" and "Long Ago And Far Away" are the better sounding ones, I may also include "Watts At Scott’s" too.

I have no idea what "Vol pour Sidney (aller)" CW on "Blues in the Cave" & "Laughing in Rhythm" and "Elvin Suite" are.

Thanks HNM, I didn't remember that song, I think I have listened to the Jim Keltner and Charlie's project twice. Will give it another chance now!

I have no idea what "Vol pour Sidney (aller)" CW on "Blues in the Cave" & "Laughing in Rhythm" and "Elvin Suite" are.

"Vol pour Sidney (aller)" is a tribute to Sydney Bechet.
