A story on me/my new book in the paper today - and I am photographed in front of a venue where I have seen the Stones a couple of times - some of you may have, too smiling smiley

Chris,

Good Luck with the book. I just came back from California last week. I saw the Dodgers twice (huge Dodgers fan). My friend and I were going to see the Angels in Anaheim as well but we couldn't make it.

The book looks like an interesting read.

All the best with the book.

Rob

Good article. I wish Arte would lose that fountain and put the "Big A" back in left field.

I've always admired baseball fanatics for their extensive knowledge, but I admit I never had the patience for delving that far into the nuts and bolts of the game. I did try to read George Will's book Men at Work: The Craft of Baseball, but I put it aways when my son moved from baseball to football. Good luck to you and congratulations on the book.

baseball isn't too complicated. if you're impatient, tune into the wgn super station for a week or so and watch the cubbies. and then just think "opposite of this" and you'll be an expert...

it's funny how the stones infect your life- i look at that picture and think mostly about standing on that spot in '02, waiting to go in, listening to the soundcheck - whip and rooster, twice each

The streaking Cubs have won 12 of their last 16 games since June 25, the best record in baseball over that span - CBS Sports

This is the year!

Oh jeez, I just re-read this and I do sound like an idiot. I know it's not that complicated StonesTod, I do understand the basics well enough, just not interested enough to learn all the RBI, OBP, statistics business. Hell, who am I kidding, I am an idiot when it comes to most sports, baseball included. I just like going to the games, singing take me out to the ballgame, and drinking a beer.

sounds like you have the essentials down pretty well...add a little heckling of the umpire and that's the game in a nutshell...
