Sad to hear. In this one of the fellows who lived so close to Roger Waters in the English countryside at one time?

I sheepishly admit, Smoke on the Water was one of the first licks I learned on guitar. RIP Jon. peace

To this day, when I hear the Hammond crescendo in "Hush", it gives me chills. He was a great musician.

R.I.P. Mr Lord

One of my favorite songs ever w/ Jon Lord's solo. These guys knew how to bring it.

One of the best musicians i've ever heard. The Lord-Blackmore tandem is unique.
Rest in peace with the company of J S Bach................

I will be seeing Procol Harum tomorrow night, another band that used a lot of Hammond. Only Jon Lord played it like no one ever played it. RIP

Great player, very versatile. He could play very complex music parts but also he could rock and roll like in "Lazy".
Rock and roll,
Mops

RIP Jon... I listened to Machine Head 'a lot' in high school. My favorite song off Machine Head.

So bottomlessly sad, so undescribably sad.

Jon Lord, we loved and we love you.

The Beast will hopefully follow you in the grave.

Can you imagine the money the Jap bootleggers are going to make out of JL's death?
They're going to release every single crapy audience tape he's present on. Bliss!
2012 is a going to be a great year for Tarantura!

"precious life" sings Gillan

This was the return of DEEP PURPLE. I was 18. I rushed to record store and got the vinyl. Still I listen to it and this perfect song is in my head FOREVER !!
