And I can see why the other band members got a bit fed up with it.

The 1976 Knebworth commemorative set includes for the next two weeks only the Knebworth 1976 festival T shirt. All the items, including the 6 CDs and 3 DVDs the set includes can be viewed on the following page

Knebworth wasnt 'broadcast' - that would explain why it was 'excluded'
The footage that circulates is raw news footage filmed by the BBC for a news report.
About two-thirds of the show isn't on the circulating footage, let alone 'Happy'.

So, no Happy or any of the other missing songs? Me so sad!

The whole show was filmed, so it might appear at some point.

Wow. For days I have been reading this thread title as "Why did they exclude Happy Birthday from Knebworth broadcast".
Hahahaha thats even better. But yeah, for some reason that was how I saw the title and I kept thinking "Hm, I guess it was one of the band member's birthdays at the Knebworth show and they didn't show when the band sang Happy Birthday to them on TV for some reason. Maybe licensing rights?" LolQuote

That's just silly.
I was wondering about Grumpy, Sneezy, Sleeply, Dopey (ha sorry he was there), Donna and Blitzen.

not sure about that. you can see some short snippets of songs on the
circulating tape. makes no sense to have faded in & out songs on a raw tape.
of course it would be great to get the whole thing on video, it´s by far the most
exciting of 1976.

No, it was all filmed. I was there and there were a number of cameras pointed at the stage throughout. I remember that there was one - at least - on a sort of cherry picker in front of the stage which must have blocked some people's view.
It was shown live on screens further away from the stage. First time I had ever seen this.

All of you who complain about Knebworth and how good they were in 2006, have a listen to this. The band is high as hell , maybe not Bill but they breath heroin. The band is half asleep and yet this version oozes of real darkness. Pay attention to Keiths guitar. He's in control despite nodding off more or less. And the way Mick sings the chorus. So cool.

Thanks, never heard this one - pretty sloopy, but very cool, indeed! I like it, great song rarely played after 71 ...
