It was great indeed. With interviews of people involved during tours and the electrician of La Fourchette And Mick sometimes in French

"we know it's a bit late but we hope you don't mind if we stay"

Yup it was wonderful like Charlie insisting on visiting museums in cities the band plays in. The punchline is he thought he wouldn't be recognized so he brought back 200 fans at his hotel with him.

It was pathetic too, like when our own Louis Bertignac claims he applied for the 2nd axeman position within the band (he doesn't say when). Oh boy! eye rolling smiley

And the Exile artwork story : Mick wanted Man Ray to work on it! But since the old man was an even harder businessman than Mick the idea was dropped.

(so Jagger wanted Escher for BB and Man Ray for Exile : hey Mick what was wrong with you?)

the story of Charlie and the museum is really crazy
after all these years he still thinks that no ones knows him ...

I also wonder about not fade away ...
it really sounded live
perhaps someone can ask the journalist though the web site ?

Thank you for sharing.
I like Louis Bertignac's anecdotes at the Pathe Marconi recording studio during the recording of Telephone's first LP.That's Louis first encounter's with The Stones. Bertignac is funny, he sounds like a cool dude;great guitar player especially his work with Jacques Higelin in the mid 70's.
Rock and roll,

Louis Bertignac is a fine guitar player. One of the best.

who can play this on guitar, with bass & drums only, no second guitar, no keyboards - no tapes ?

Doxa, you don't like Escher or Man Ray?

Hmm, nothing wrong with Mick there, imo.
Artistic taste is quite variable.

Thanks for the info on the interview, everyone

If you suscribe to the podcast don't be mislead by the title of the mp3 file : what's named "Conti le combat continue" is in fact the Stone file... eye rolling smiley

Great one! And funny too : when French Stones copycat Louis Bertignac claims he wanted to take Ron's place (in the early 80's?) I can't help but laugh out loud!

And Honest Ron must have laughed too... cos he still has the job! smoking smiley

Bump it has been rebroadcasted on French radio this morning.

Ah Man Ray trying to extort 25000 dollars for a sketch he spent 5 minutes on...

D. Tarlé take on the "Nellcote as a drug addicts HQ" is interesting : acc. to him there was very little stuff around at the beginning of his sojourn.

But every drug dealer from the Riviera start to knock at the door and by the end of the stay the studious hard-working band mood was gone...

Thanks, podcast still available too (and until 03/2015 apparently!).

Bertignac must have applied in 1982 when Mick wanted to kick out Ronnie according to Nick Kent. Since Telephone opened for the Stones at Auteuil in 1982 he must have been tipped off at the time. About that I remember Telephone complaining that their sound system had been sabotaged by the Stones, Mick himself as Aubert said "Jagger est une pute'...

The story by Lenglet (sp ?) of the October 65 concerts at Olympia is pretty funny, no wonder they had so much security at Trabendo ;-)

Interesting tapes of the Exile sessions (Keith saying "Charlie don't come in until") where the heck does that come from, Tarle's private tapes ?! Still can't believe Tarlé was queuing up at the Virgin for the Trabendo concert...just for the fun/thrill of it?
