Curved Air have very few 'good' songs so picking the best would be difficult, but its interesting to check out a young Stewart Copeland on a few tracks. Try the 'Airborne' LP.

Curved Air - Back Street Luv (1971 single), Vivaldi or It Happened Today from Air Conditioning album. If you really want to prog out then Metamorphosis from Air Cut.
Can - The entire albums of Tago Mago, Soon Over Babalooma and Future Days. But just about everything by them from 69 to 74 is great.

I remember liking the Phantasmagoria album by Curved Air but I haven't heard it for 30+ years so make no guarantees!
