#6 So Divine (Aladdin Story)

So what's the story? What / where is the Aladdin connotation with this tune?

Anyone know?

That was simply the working title of the song as an instrumental outtake.

The lyrics weren't written for decades later.

'Aladdin Story' was the title when it was an instrumental and circulated as a Bell Sound (or Trident) demo in 1972.

I guess the "Aladdin" comes from the sax part with a sort "arabesque" melody. But who knows.

I had the Death in Vegas CD before the Exile reissue came out. Needless to say I was surprised to hear said tune when it turned up on the reissue. Obviously DIV had heard it on a boot and decided to borrow it.. They didn't credit Jagger/Richards instead putting "unknown" in the brackets. Very clever keep the publishing. Never heard about the Stones suing them over this.. Which is not like them at all.. Anyone else shed any light on the matter??

.well guess it's possible they heard it on a boot or whatever
and never knew where it came from .... BUT they also borrow the
words from an old spiritual and claim them as lyrics by Richard Fearless ....
