Great set list, can't wait for the Hollywood Bowl show.

I see they did Sail on Sailor, gee I wonder if Blondie came out to sing it?

There are definitely some surprizes in the set list. Carl's "All This Is That" probably the most obscure. Great song!

I am looking forward to the show at Chastain Park in Atlanta Saturday! Anybody going? Elmo?

If you want to compare groups by a specific number of songs (pick one: 10, 20, 30, 40), the BB stand up to anyone. I'd pay to just hear "Don't Worry Baby." Is there a prettier song about a girl sending her guy off to his possible death in a dangerous car race? Those songs still jump out of your speakers even after all those years. I have said before, growing up in Southern California in the '60's, these songs defined my existence as much as the air I breathed. Pure perfection even down to the description of the rear end of a car that really did NOT hold the road. I am glad to read the Mike Love was subdued. His neurotic chatter always made me uncomfortable.

Love the Beach Boys, and glad they're doing this, but it's so hard to not have Carl's voice in the mix.

"Look at that Mr. Jagger - can you do the same? They have the same age!!"

Macca does it for three hours... He pours tepid water over the paying audience's head for that long. It's nowhere near playing a ROCK show.

Nice to hear it went so well. 42 songs IS impressive, though I have a feeling some of them were abbreviated since they apparently played several medley-style.

If they were to come here to Nashville I would probably go, but without Dennis or (especially) Carl I just don't see myself traveling for it.

Either way, good for them and good for the fans.

I met Mike about a month ago and asked him "So, Mike, how many songs are you guys going to be rehearsing?" "About 40 or so" he says. Then I said, "Can I request, "All This Is That?" His assistant said "Ooohh that's a beautiful song! You have great taste." Mike turned to me and said: "Oh you like that one, eh? That's a good one."

So whether it's a coincidence--I'm just gonna go ahead and say that the song is in the set because of me. Case closed!>grinning smiley<

I hope Brian can hang in there. It still seems a momumental effort for him to smile. Should be a good DVD at some point. The single is a bit like a slowed down 'Silhouettes On The Shade'.

I like it. I'd go so far as to say it's the best thing they've done since '76 or '77.

Caroline No and Warmth of The Sun would be nice additions, but, really, it's hard to find fault with that set list. Guess I better put on my Hawaiian shirt and my baseball cap and get out there and show my allegiance when they come to my area.

I have tickets for Bethel Woods (woodstock location). Really looking forward to it. Taking my kids, who will not think they are cool - but you never know.

The reason they can play 42 song set list in 2.5 hours is the songs are between 2-3 minutesin length. The Stones have songs from 3-10 in length. I hope if they do tour we get about 25 songs but for Mick and Keith to do 25 song set list will be tough without lots of days between shows. The Beach Boys have a great show but it is mellow and laid back where the Stones have a very active moving setlist. The only comparison is the band members ages. The concerts are totally different and I have seen them both more times than most of you have lived in years.

Why are there no Youtubes yet?! This isn't 1965! I need instant gratification!

Keep in mind that this was probably the oldest audience ever to attend a rock event. They may not be entirely "onboard" with the internets just yet.

As have I and I would disagree. The last time the Stones did 25 songs in a set was who knows when. They did 18, 19 tops last tour. BB songs by and large are energetic, upbeat tunes, and it does take effort. Mike Love is 72 this year by the way.
