Another one of his problems. Should we be accepting that Brian was lazy? He pretty gave up advancing on the guitar. It seemed to take a new instrument to hold his attention for a short period. Nothing wrong with being lazy. I love being lazy. But not in that band. They were working. He seems to have lacked the confidence. And he didn't have a writing partner, either.
Andrew tried Brian and Gene Pitney first - before he asked/ordered Mick and Keith.
Did Andrew say that in one of his books?
If so, he must have felt very guilty about Brian's fate.
That Brian wasn't a songwriter does not have to do with being lazy. It really is a different talent, to be able to create riffs, licks and what more to existing music, and to write a song from scratch. For both you need talent and creativity, but writing songs really is a different game altogether.
