"Swap a hug of my wife for a box of treacle waffles" - with this sign a woman called Rose managed to get on stage during the Paul McCartney show in Rotterdam. Instead of a hug Paul got a sermon ;-)

Great concert! Just got back to my house about 30 minutes ago. Shows how important iorr is to me, ha-ha. I think Paul got such a laugh from her sign that he had security bring her on stage. Unfortunately it seemed it was more about her agenda in the end. But Paul was very gracious. He sure is getting cool these days. About 4 months ago in Koln he signed a few things at the end of the show. He nver used to do things like this. Or maybe I'm wrong? Anyhow, the gig was spectacular as always.

I am really curious though...what on earth does 'to swaffel a hug for candy' mean?

Yeah, Paul was very cool about this. But what the hell did the woman try to tell the audience. She pointed at some magazine? I did not understand her English - or was it Dutch?

Not sure what she was trying to say or even what language it was. But the impression I got was it was propaganda of some sort because Paul said it was a commercial. And then she kept going on almost trying to ignore Pauls wishes to stop it. At that point I became disappointed the opportunity was waisted on somebody who wasn't a fan. Anyhow Paul was definately a good sport.

Yes, it was a wasted opportunity for a real fan. Not sure if Paul keeps getting people on stage after this. In past there were a lot of fans who wanted an autograph for a tattoo.
