That is classic. I have the original post card that came with Imagine. Lennon was in full rant mode with McCartney and felt a lot of Ram was directed towards him and Yoko. Too Many People, Dear Friend (which actually Macca says is about Linda's first husband, which makes far more sense when listening to it) Three Legs "a fly flies in, a fly flies out (Yoko's film Fly).. . " But Lennon was always more to the point, direct, and vicious..."the sound you make is muzak to my ears, you musta learned something, in all those year...oh how do you sleep" and in the film version from the Docu Gimmie Some Truth he adds cvnt. Ringo has also said in interviews there were quite a few more brutal verses that Lennon and Yoko were cheerfully scribing and singing, but Yoko said, "John, that's enough..."
Funny card, love Lennons gleeful look on it.

You mean the Imagine album.

If Lennon had gotten it inside copies of RAM, that would really have been a below-the-belt coup...

Lennon vs McCartney... the saddest "Fued" in RnR history... they were never allowed
to make up so to speak... still bums me out

Loog, right! Sorry typo and that would have been almost Nixonian if he managed stacking those Macca's RAM. Gripweed, to you, actually Lennon and Macca did make up. Macca often says that one of the things he is so happy about is that him and Lennon made up. Macca had a period of time where he was frequently visiting Lennon at the Dakota. But Lennon after a while snapped at him and those visits ended, but they remained close and spoke often on the phone.
However, the sad story is that during the recording of Double Fantasy, band members and Jack Douglas, the produceer, recounted how Lennon was feeling very sentimental and often spoke of wanting to team up with McCartney to write again. Then McCartney called the studio one day to talk with Lennon and Yoko answered and said sorry John can't talk and hung up on McCartney. Jack Douglas also had a falling out with Yoko after Lennon's death. Now they are on better terms. I did read a very interesting interview with Douglas where he recounts on the night of Lennon's death he told Douglas something that he will never repeat and it haunts him till this day. I would love to know what that was.

Makes you wonder what would have happened if they had gotten back together.

The only post-Beatles photo I've seen of John and Paul was a snapshot May Pang took of them by the pool in either '74 or '75 that is found in her book Instamatic Karma.

Around that time Paul also invited John to join him in New Orleans for his Venus and Mars recording sessions. John was up for it and ready to go, until Yoko got wind of it and then decided it was time to end "The Lost Weekend." So she put a stop to all that.

Yoko had no problem with John screwing May Pang. The only real rival she had for John's affection was Paul.

tatters, DESS released a cdr version of the ultra rare Brazilian only "Abbey Road" MONO LP but I really dont have the "smarts" to know if its a fold down or not. It does sound different tho! (Guess according to this is was a fold in(down?)

I also went back and checked-there was a Brazilian MONO Let It Be too.(fold down again? I guess)

It has to be a fold down. True mono mixes of Abbey Road and Let It Be were never made and do not exist.

It's not a fold down! A dedicated mono mix of Ram were done for the AM radio stations. Some interference occured while testing a fold down.

Wonderful album ! It got slammed when it was first released because everyone still blamed Mccartney for leaving the aBeatles, and having Lennon pissing all over your 1st album didnt help matters--
BUT........ if you listen to the lyrics Mccartney makes a very ballsy move and actually goes after Lennon for the comments made on his "Lennon Remembers" interview with Rolling Stone. Tracks like " Too Many People, Dear Boy, Uncle Abert, and 3 Legs" are ripe with shots at Lennon & Yoko--this album really got the whole "feud" into high gear--
The lyrics were great, the music was top notch and it contained an absolutley killer closer,"Backseat of my Car ( his homage to Brian Wilson / Pet Sounds )--what more could you want ????? Great stuff
