Maybe I'm asking for too much but if I could give a reference (the name of an already existing user) I'd probably get my confirmation mail. On the other hand it would be my pleasure to help you with your first torrent upload smiling smiley

Listening through it all, tis A fantastic Hendrix bootleg! Wow!!! eye popping smiley

Let's go back on Sunday January 21st, 1968 in London !

During a small party with friends (Dave Mason and Viv Prince), Jimi was listening "All Along The Watchtower" on Bob Dylan's "John Wesley Harding" LP for the very first time and decided to record it immediately ! " We gotta record that, I gotta do that !". He ran to the Olympic Sound Studios that same night.

For those who want to have a quick ear :

Here is a short take at the beginning of the session (without Brian...): [youtu.be]

AWESOME !

Here is what Michael Gray (one of the greatest Bob Dylan specialists) told me about songs Dylan performed:

" All Along The Watchtower’ is still the most-performed, and has now been given 2017 performances ! And no doubt when Bob’s tour of South America starts soon, the number will rise again."

I sent the news about the sessions to DAVE MASON, he answered :

"Cool! Very cool!

Ask him if he can recall whether or not he played Mellotron with mandolin setting on Factory Girl and if he played harmonica on Dear Doctor. grinning smiley

Great "fly on the wall" feeling BUT imho this is boring as hell and musically close to zero.
Hearing a bunch of guys struggling with the 3 chord that make "Watchtower" plus another man plucking on a bad-sounding piano is toe-curling.

Opening the vaults is great but this time they obviously dug too deep.

Tis a glimpse in to the creative process. Nothing more, nothing less.

Such things fascinate me. thumbs up

Why didn't tell Hendrix to Brian "the first chord is a minor" smiling smiley

I'd like to say yes but we've been waiting for Albert Hall since so long...

Yes. I have a 1CD, 2CD & 3CD version of Albert Hall, it really needs one definitive release.

I though the Woburn 68 release was a great surprise, may be Dagger have something due soon.

The piano does improve a little as it goes along, but yeah ...
this sort of sound byte does much to bolster the arguments
of the Jones bashers ...

It's easy enough to single out sound bytes of any of the stones, probably except for Mick Taylor, playing just as badly. spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Its just a quick recording of something, Brian playing along once, obviously not a serious session, just one of those Hendrix jams. And he's playing the Gimme Shlter chords instead of a minor C#

Well, SFM Brussels 2nd comes to mind...

Anyway, I had a chat with Dave Mason for some time, which was completely shut when I asked about his involvement on Beggars....

It must be in how you ask cos he's being quite open about his involvement to me.

More later... thumbs up

Well, we chatted for 15 minutes about guitars, and then about his acoustics he used on his first solo albums. I then asked whether he did play acoustic on Beggars, as it was said he plays acoustic on Dear Doctor. He reacted in a 'I forgot about all that, gotta go on stage now' way.
