Marquee Club 1963 live tape.

Some ten years ago I read about a tape that was found. It contained a concert with the Stones at Marquee Club from the spring of 1963.At an auction the tape was bought by Mick. Any out there who thinks that it will be released on Stonesarchive for downloading?

It was the Crawdaddy, not the Marquee. And it never circulated.

I highly doubt it. Many (most?) songs were incomplete, and as I remember it, it was a "private recording", not a soundboard.

Apart from a track or two or at least a short excerpt on a future Anthology release I can't envision this tape to be released in its entirety. Stonesarchive -- as I understand it - will make available professional recordings, not novelty stuff like private amateur recordings.

Thanks for posting the article Rockman, very interesting. Now that would be a Holy Grail. A live recording of an embryonic Stones performance,It does not get better than that.

I think the Rolling Stones will re-record the incomplete parts, so that we have a complete concert. I got the impression that a lot folks on this board doesn't care if there are, for example, some 2011-vocals on this one...

Probably and of course Keith will erase Brian Jones's parts and do them himself.

Now why in the world would Keith want to do that? At that point, Brian was an excellent guitar player, killer rhythm. Are you being facetious?

Carbaby, please be careful with using (our) quotes, because something went wrong here...I never said Keith will erase Brian Jones's parts...although I think he will...

EDIT: I see the use of 'quote this message' does not work well...strange

"At that point"? He was good in RnR Circus (although a bit shaky) but his guitar was still so low in the mix I'm surprised that they just didn't edit him out in the video as well. With that in mind and Mick and Keith's big heart for the guy I wouldn't surprised if they took him out from the 1963 bootleg.

Who performed the original "You Got Me Running". This song doesn't look familiar.
