I've seen a lot on the internet on sticky fingers gatefold. from fake till very rare. my girl and I both have a gatefold copy . anyone knows the real story on these?

It's simply a 'misprint' (manufacturing flaw):

The one and only wonderful fold-open SF is from New Zealand.

Could it possibly be they neglected to glue them? If that was a true gatefold, the cardboard on the back of the zipper would have some print. I don't think they would had left it as naked cardboard.
