It is a long hot summer, I would be willing to bet once Tom gets over there he will stay a while.
The only thing I dont like about Tom Petty live is he is kind of militant about people taking vidoe and pictures.... and although it may have changed since I last looked, he is also not very forgiving of having his stuff posted on youtube. Unlike our beloved Stones (who allow their songs to be posted every which way people want) Petty's songs are harder to find on youtube... or at least they were last time I tried.
Yeah it's a bummer. Hopefully they add some shows. The tour I should've really went on was last year's tour promoting Mojo...great album and they did a bunch of songs from it.

I just don't think that Tom Petty will fill the Hallenstadion in Zurich at all. He is well known by insiders but not to a lot of people.
I have seen him once in Mannheim Rosengarten ca 1000 people first row. It was one of the most amazing concerts. The stage was as low as my belt and now security front. Just us and the Band.

no spain and no eastern europe.. there must be a reason, i think petty's promoters are afraid not many people will attend the gigs. it seems a low- risk schedule. times have changed.

They aren't playing London? Bit suprised as I would have thought its one the places where they would be guaranteed a good crowd after so many years away. Maybe this is just a foot in the water tour and they will be back properly soon after.

20 yrs since he played in Oslo in Oslo Spektrum. I might skip the Oslo one and do 2-3 indoor.
Norwegian Wood Festival is probably the most cozy one in Europe, but weather weather weather.
The "boss" of the festival is a huge Stones fan btw!

Update for 2013...
...besides a few shows and festivals here and there,
Tom & the boys will be doing 5 shows at the Beacon in NY in May and 6 shows at the Henry Fonda in L.A. in June.
...hope they don't conflict with the Stones west coast dates.
