In the eve of the 30th anniversary I decided to open this thread. 13th December 1981 The Rolling Stones played at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. The setlist was as follows:

Under My Thumb
When The Whip Comes Down
Let’s Spend The Night Together
Shattered
Neighbours
Black Limousine
Just My Imagination
Twenty Flight Rock
Going To A Go Go
Let Me Go
Time Is On My Side
Beast Of Burden
Waiting On A Friend
Let It Bleed
You Can’t Always Get What You Want
Band introduction
Little T & A
Tumbling Dice
She’s So Cold
Hang Fire
Miss You
Honky Tonk Women
Brown Sugar
Start Me Up
Jumping Jack Flash
Satisfaction

Some memorable moments:

Outstanding venue - saw The Stones there in 1997.

The set list on the 1981 tour seemed to be just right. Plenty of songs from the new album, as it should be.

Great show.

Great band.

Great tour.

Guitars were louder than in 78.

Don't be fooled by the Hal Hashby film to assess this show. LSTNT was severely sped-up...

Phoenix was probably the best performance on the tour for me. Better than Hampton IMO.

To be honest , I am lost with the bootlegs from 81 ....smiling smiley

Should I stick to the KB "Arizona 81 " ?
As far as I know,it's a soundboard.
What about "Devils And Deserts" ?

I think I don't have it .
Thanks for your help,Paul .

Didn't know that, thanks. But that tour was still up tempo.

I've heard this before, but now I'm curious--is the film itself sped up or is it just the PAL transfer issue, with NTSC running at normal speed. Or is the NTSC version fast and the PAL faster? Or are they both fast?

11 AM?

Why was this a daytime show? For the filming?
