I just lost my dad tonight to cancer.I am quite a private person but I just feel the need to write to help myself get through the night.

My dad was a brilliant photographer,artist and art director a real genius and had worked with people such as Helmut Newton and John Pasche.

I loved you so much dad and always will.

Nate, this is such sad news, so very sorry for your loss. I’m sure your love and care made his illness more tolerable. Even though you must have been expecting it, it still comes as a shock, doesn’t it? Hoping you find strength and peace. Treasure your memories.

Sorry to hear about your painful loss. Suppose the best advice I've heard or know in this case is to think happy and positive thoughts of the person. Hope this helps somehow.

Nate...I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my father several years ago and think of him every day. Speaking for myself: the grief fades but the memories remain..
today those memories are no longer painful but a good thing. Again...so sorry for
your loss Nate.

Nate, the night my mum died (unexpectedly) I didn't know what to do with myself and ended up like you, telling a bunch of strangers on an online forum--not this one, but the people were just as kind, and it helped me in ways that I couldn't have imagined. Just telling people about her helped a lot. So I'm glad to see such supportive comments, and I too would like to see some of his photographs when you get a chance. Hang in there.
