Quote cooheid Seen them 3 times live. First time they were supporting Velvet Underground in Edinburgh. One of my favourite bands. Sorry cant see the youtube vid.
Strange it works for me, maybe it's region locked? I'm in NZ.
Ahh jealous you have seen them live! Strangely enough Dean Wareham was born in Wellington NZ. I also love Galaxie 500.
In fact, I think of them as my "indie Stones". In other words, my favorite indie band....with the Stones being my favorite "mainstream" band.
I've seen them live many times over the years, dating back to 1998. They've played many covers, but unfortunately I've never seen them play 'Waiting on a Friend'. FYI, their version can be found on their 'Close Cover Before Striking' EP.
For anyone interested, they cover 'Walking Thru The Sleepy City' on their latest album, 'Sentimental Education'. An interesting and obscure choice, to be sure....but it works, in a very Luna way.
