I'm sure they used coke and speed to deal with the grind of near nonstop touring, but after Keith got off smack, he replaced it with industrial quantities of alcohol and cocaine.

Not if you look at the schedules of BB King and Dylan as a comparison, for example.
After Spring 1967, the band have always enjoyed long lay offs between tours....add to that the high end accomodation and tour support at your beck and call.
Not exactly a grind!

Any musician will tell you it's hard to get "up" for every show, particularly on back-to-back nights with touring, partying, lack of sleep.

Well they didn't perform one large stages with the degree of athleticism that Mick and (sometimes) Keith display...how about that?

....well i dunno how much of this is ghost written or sensationalized; and I do not know Jerry at all, tho I'd trust a Texan to tell it straight generally speaking; all i know is just some interviews and appearances over the years that the public has been privvy to...so no insider w info enough fatual info to say what's embellished or may be pretty straight true here...nor really the personal authority to say it does sound like her,,,,but it kinda does to me...
...and it IS the Daily Mail, that bastion of integrous journalism...but i think they are mostly excerpting from her book, which i have not read....

gosh i qualifed that ten ways from sunday not wanting to be unfair or add to the rumor mill; but i'd think it would be like @#$%& crazy to think at some point or another, thru one means or another, maybe just the smoke as Jerry is inferring, but Mick ain't no angel...i'm guessing it's not the kind of thing you do ONCE if u like it...i'm afraid of it myself...always have been; lost some friends early on...

ronnie smoked heroin (yes he said so himself) and the story is that they were all on smack in the mid 70s. Mick sure looked and sounded like it in 75-77.

Mick gavs it up because he is Mick Jagger. He changes.

I think Keith resents that Mick did drugs without the bad publicity and the arrests.
Also think Keith believes Mick's 'addiction' to women was worse than his drug activities (he wouldn't say addiction, probably.)

Mick did get the publicity and was indeed arrested because of drugs..

Not saying that resentment makes sense.
Mick didn't get hounded quite so much, though. Keith was always being blackmailed. I don't know. Keith sometimes gets me to feel sorry for him, then I have to remember he brought most of it on himself.

Ugh, I can't believe I'm going to type this, but my loyalty to my favorite singer I cannot help.
Here's my honest opinion
Sex addition is very ugly (no experience!) but for a man, it's not having love affairs. Love affairs are different than sex addiction.
And Jerry Hall herself has said: beautiful intelligent woman constantly present themselves

No, he is not addicted. My opinion.

Paul McCartney has had the same pressures as Mick and Keith...maybe he has just handled it better. Of course he (and Linda) certainly had a liking for weed....and was busted ?3 times. Not far off Keith's 'harassment' then?

As for Mick and his ladies. Again Macca must have had the same temptations....perhaps he was just 'more in love' with Linda than Mick ever was with his various partners. Or Mick just isn't the type to be faithful to one person. Not sure I would define that as an addiction, however.
