The title is misleading. A live album with this content was never even considered for release. It's just a bootlegger's wet dream! The music is great, though.

But are the recordings great?

What if the next album is a live album consisting of tunes played this tour?
Might be nice to have She's a Rainbow, Play with Fire, the blues covers , as well as some of the other more obscure tunes that might be played on an official release.
I think they'll have enough salvageable material to make it work with maybe a few minor overdubs...maybe even enough for a double album!

Considering the source material (KBFH Europe 1973 & Welcome To New York) they should sound great. If they'd @#$%& up the sound with ace material like this, then I don't know what.

Ah! I should have looked more closely. I assumed it were only the 1972-recordings smiling smiley

wonder if the stones will come up with something different for the next live album.

will it just be another vaults release, which are good as you hear the band in a particular era and with its own setlist, but i would like to hear an album that dosent have the same old stuff, maybe do a live compilation of songs played in different era,s, different band members, and leaning towards songs rarely played.

an album as such would maybe lack continuity but would be versatile and varied.

That sounds like the kind of thing we'll get when all Stones are gone and their heirs need to scratch up some dough, or want to keep the 'brand' going.

Why isn't Rocks Off part of the Live List?

so IF this was a live album, and it is, it would be possibly the greatest most fulfilled and fulfilling Live rock and roll album in the history of the world.

Amen.

How can fragments of three shows, from two different tours, be fulfilling?

That said, I wouldn't mind getting this, not at all! thumbs up

But we have it already. If they can't make officially releases better than the bootlegs, what's the point?

Anyway I agree with you. If they can't make it better, release something else, like Perth, St.Louis, or Vienna. Or all of them + some moresmoking smiley

It's time. High time really. If they wait another 10 or 20 years, professional mastering and marketing costs will probably outweight any income from sales and make it unprofitable to release old live recordings from the archive. I am extremely happy that they started to open their archives some years ago (imo at least 10, if not 20 years too late, though), but there's still so much more they could do.
