MXR Phase 90 or 100 in '78

Did a search and found nothing. What does Keith use a 90 or 100? Thanks

Phase 100. Jimmy Page used to use the Phase 90 on the later Zeppelin tours.

I'm pretty sure there's been discussions on this board regarding Keith's Phase settings for Shattered, Miss You, Imagination, etc...
He also used the older MXR, with the script lettering. The newer Phase 100s are good, but not as good as the older ones. The older ones go for a king's ransom nowadays.

Pics in the Karnbach 82 tour book and the two volume Mankowitch coffee table book(volume 2, page 306). Also, the sound of the phaser on the 82 tour is different to the 81 tour.

That might explain why I didn't like his tone as much in 82. Then again, I didn't care for it terribly in '81 either. I always thought the guitars from the Tattoo You had kind of a metallic, grating sound.

thanks for the info! I've notest sound differences between 81 / 82 but always tought it was something else. different delay settings etc. everyday you learn something new.

I destroyed my 90. Found another one for $50. I would like to get the 100. Ever goofed around with the Eddie Van Halen one? It's cool and confounding.

Back in '98, '99, 2000 you could get a MXR 100 Script logo original for a pretty resonable price. As I prefered the Electric Mistress Flanger (I dug the name) I bought that instead. Regret that now.

Little detail. I just noticed that Keith also used Phase 90 in '81 tour. At least at Madison Square Garden shows. Maybe only at these two shows..
