Apparently the first experiences are like that, but all subsequent ones once you're addicted just have the effect of removing heroin withdrawal symptoms, which are like having the flu, from mild to terrible.

There is a quote from Mick out there somewhere where he states he did try
heroin but found it "boring".

well a long time ago, early 80's, my neighbor would ask me to come over and keep an eye on him while he shot up. he would do it, throw up, kinda mumble for awhile and go to sleep. all the while i was smokin his best hooch. he would wake up after a time, get up, go pee, do another shot......kinda boring if you ask me.

I personally intend to try everything before I die.

I have tried it and I can't recommend it enough, the only problem is it's very moreish.

Tried it a few times. I didn't like the nausea but the buzz was like falling back onto a down filled comforter that never ended... music also was like a warm wave of peace...

Mick has always seemed far too restless and "Type-A" personality to get seriously involved with a heroin addiction.

A few lines of coke to keep the energy going is more his style. Classic Wall St. drug of choice.

Closest I ever got was smoking some opium at a Stones concert in '81. Got so stoned I lost most of the chunk I was smoking. That was enough for me. I have, however, smoked enough weed to kill a small elephant.

Coming from a hospital perspective, can I advise anyone thinking of dabbling with any opiates to stay well clear. Street junk is so old school.

I've read a similar story about meth : users lose their teeth not because of the drug itself but because this stuff is SO powerful you lose any appetite for food. Hence severe nutrition problems and loss of teeth à la Steve Mc Queen in "Papillon"...

there are earlier quotes from keith, during one of his clean-ups, about heroin

thanks. "coming down again" is definitely the flip side, of any kind of high.
but its good what mick and keith say about drugs. christ they're dangerous and
christ they're a dead end but christ almighty did we produce some fcuking
music before we crashed.
