OT: The late great Gene Clark

Nice read on Gene Clark, one of the founding members of The Byrds. I have a number of albums by him. My fave is still "No Other" which can only be described, at least by me, as cosmic cowboy music meant for a drive in the cool night time desert under a blanket of stars with a tequila enhanced buzz with your sweet thing by your side. You get the idea. "No Other" is out there on U-toob if you're interested in checking it out along with other Clark stuff.

Thanks for posting. No Other is one of the absolute classics, no matter genre, imo. A fantastic album!

I love his untitled album as well, produced by Jesse Ed Davis, although it's way more stripped down.

Yes, thanks for posting.
I'm a long time Gene Clark fan, love his contribution to the Byrds;
and of course he did some good solo albums too!

Info on the Sierra release:

I'm a bit distracted at the moment, because I am currently listening to some let's say related stuff, a live concert from Emmylou Harris & Linda Ronstadt in
San Luis Obispo the year 1999.
Man this is incredible, and we need an official release from this short tour!!

Dillard and Clark were brilliant, as was the Gene Clark with Gosden Brothers album, which was done straight after The Byrds.

No Other is also an extraordinary album.

Every now and then Gene Clark turns up and rightly so.

Got all the mentioned albums some 20 years ago when UNCUT magazine was promoting the genre (Gram Parsonszzzzzzzzzz...thumbs up)

Only gave it a spin or 5. Never listened to it again.

Maybe I will tommorow...

Nice to see the name of Gene Clark mentioned of this forum. He was a huge songwriter, his album with Carla Olson is also great.

Bye

Clarke is a giant on the first Byrds-albums as well.
