well the one in Charlotte had a long, very good run..43 years...

Old clubs closing why?

Live Nation/House of Blues/Fillmore generic joints popping up all over America. Www have a new one in my town, locally owned but operated by the aforementioned. Different name but could just as easily be Fillmore of HOB.

in the case of the Double Door in Charlotte, the nearby community college bought the land for its expansion..

that, plus the owner of the Double Door was ready...he earned it. Still, that venue was one of the best live music joints in the country.
