Gotta admit, I was not thrilled with the Stones having backing singers when they first appeared in 1989. I preferred - and still do - the wrong but right caterwauling of Keith and Ronnie. But alas, it is what it is and the Stones are not about to change their modern era formula. Bernard's there because Mick wants him there and he does a good job. Still I long for 1981-style backing vocals though I know it ain't gonna happen. Sort of did last year in Detroit when they let Ronnie chime in with Keith on Imagination...That was a surprise!
