Let's replace Mick with Jemaine Clement. Just kidding, I would never replace Mick and still call it the Stones. I always thought Peter Garrett could pull off sounding like Mick as well.

The band WAS Brians, then it was Mick and Keith's and for the last upto 30 years it has been and remains Mick's band in terms of control and influence etc.

James Kirk, I agree with you and Soulpunderer; how can anyone think there would even be a Rolling Stones in 2011 if left to Keith's efforts...or lack of effort more to the point. Seriously, Keith's band?? How? What is he doing aside from signing a book that might be totally responsible FOR ENDING THE BAND!??

Keith wishes it was his band. And tied his ultimate happiness and feelings of self worth to The Rolling Stones. But at the end of the day. Mick for the most part, is the one who decides when to tour, and what is released.

I dislike this post. We all know Keith's strengths and weaknesses. Enough.
Charlie has hardly been mentioned and he is and always has been an integral part of The Rolling Stones, a true survivor returning after a life threatening cancer diagnosis.

Maybe they were always Perky Wyman's band. Without him, there's something important missing that can't be replaced.
