Berlin, Ankara, Zurich... a very sad day. Let's give peace a chance. Stay safe, everyone.

It's not yet clear right now if it's an accident or a terror attack.

You are right but eyewitnesses say the speed at which the truck was traveling was fast and the driver ran away from the scene but has now been arrested so we will know soon.

The truck came from Poland/Gdansk, maybe it was stolen.
One man in the truck died, the driver ran away and seems to be arrested now.

Statement by the police: Don't post any videos of this crash.

#SafetyCheck at Facebook

The owner of the truck was on TVN24 in Poland.

Berlin Police:
"It is suspected that the truck was stolen from a construction site in Poland. The investigations are still ongoing."
"The fire department endet their rescue work at Breitscheidplatz. 45 partially heavily injured were brought to Berlin hospitals."

German Minister of the Interior Thomas de Maizière does not confirm a terror attack.

My heart goes out to the people of Berlin. I hate even commenting about these horrible acts on here. I know it's necessary to have threads about reality. But this reality is just so wrong. It seems like we can't escape all this crazy shit now, anywhere we go, wherever we live.

My thoughts go out to everyone in Berlin who has been affected by the terrible act of a madman.

Terrible. Sometimes I wonder about the state of humanity. Thankfully the world is also full of nice people. Sometimes hard to see because they're not making noise like this. Best wishes to those affected.

This is terrorism. Most probably planned by Daesh. Not really an act by a madman. And has nothing to to with the state of humanity. This was not the first terrorist act on European soil. More will come.
This has to be dealt with politically and of course militarily and security wise.

Absolutely chilling. My thoughts go out to friends in Berlin - a city close to my heart as my dad came from there.

My family and I were at that exact market several times last December and we already have tickets to re-visit Berlin next week.

the human race can be a disgrace at times, no one is ever safe all of the time, thank goodness the majority of people are decent.

I am surprised this post is still up, since it has political undertones. I remember the post dealing with Keith in the We Are Not Afraid group who welcomes refugees. That got deleted.

Okey Happy24. I agree, the word racism was, perhaps, uncalled for. The thing is; I like to call a spade a spade. And put responsiblity where it should be put. I'm not a fan of relativism or far-fetched solutions.
But you're right - we shouldn't turn this thread into a political debate. Mea culpa, I guess. I can't stay away from political discussions. No hard feelings as you said. And I agree with your point in the "dust" argument.
That was probably what you responded to in the first place.
