I agree Slew...like the cliched married couple who have a love hate relationship. It doesn't matter what they say or do to each other they have always known each other, lived with each other through hard times and through good times...without each other they wouldn't have enjoyed the status, the money, the women, the drugs, the tours, the fame. Once one of them goes, whether they choose to openly show it or not they will be gutted. It will be the end, that other person won't exist any more to bitch about.
It's no different to Lennon and McCartney...and we all know how Paul felt after JOhn took the bullet.
