Remember drive in theaters ?

The only "drive-ins" we have over here are Mac Donalds'ones grinning smiley

The 60's "drive -in theaters " must have been so romantic -watching a movie on big screen - and so hot as well .

A friend of mine is really into cars ,but his fave are British cars.
He buys old cars and fix the engines -it's not his real job but just a hobby .
He had a Porshe then he sold it and bought an Austin-Healey .

One time a year,he goes to a rallye called 'The Monte-Carlo historique " ,a very famous event over here .

(in English smiling smiley )

He gave me his permission to post the photos of the 2011 rallye .
I went to see him when he left Lyon with the Alpine Renault that day,he opened the hood and showed me the engine which looked really good !
I loved the sound the engine made when he started the car !!

The two first pics I took them that early morning before he left.He is taller than I am -I am 1.68 m -so see how the car is "low" on the ground

For the record,The name "Christine Laure " was a name sponsor (clothes ) but I must admit I enjoyed having one part of my 1st name written in big letters on the hood of the car cool smiley

More photos to come if it pleases you !
( Rockee and Edith Grove : you might have seen some of them already if I remember well )

Yes,I remember that photo.smiling smiley

What was the exact story that goes with it ?
Am I mistaken by saying that Mick didn't drive that car for a very long while when the "accident" happened ?

I don't know the full story, I think the accident happened around August 1966 and that's Chrissie Shrimpton in the passenger seat.
Here's another view:

Mick doesn't look very happy, does he?
The car cost him £5000 and apparently the repair bill was £300.

This is probably the best known picture of it taken by Gerard Mankowitz:

The car was a 1965 Aston Martin DB6 in Midnight Blue
