I also heard it was the cellars of the Paradiso. One of the coolest modern day band pictures in my opinion. Never get tired of it.

So were they about to go rock it or did they just finish rocking it?
Or did they reconvene at a later date for the shoot...

It's one of the best group photos of the Stones ever, in my opinion.

Mick looks totally badass, like a caged lion, Keith and Ronnie look elegantly wasted, and Charlie is dapper and raring to go.

I've only ever seen a couple of the videos from the Stripped special on youtube. What all was the show? Did it have tracks that weren't on the album?

MTV did an hour-long Stripped special in '95, and they aired some tracks that weren't on the original Stripped album.

Gimme Shelter was one of the B-sides to the Wild Horses single.

Live versions of Tumbling Dice (a backstage jam cut with a live version) Live With Me, Black Limousine and All Down the Line were also B-sides, but the video footage for those songs wasn't included in the special.

Personally, I think those '95 club shows were some of the best shows they've done since '89, and should have been more fully documented and released. The sound from those sessions is heavy and hard-hitting as hell.

Agreed! Looks especially forced on Charlie. Mick has had shades on various random occasions through the decades.

After WW III I'd say the band looked as coolest during the No Security tour in '99.

Has there ever circulated outtakes from this photo shoot? I've heard the band had a limited photo book produced of these photo sessions, for family and relatives.
