Tomorrow it'll be exactly eleven months out from The Stones 50th with still no word about a tour yet..maybe some of these rumours getting around about no tour could be true after all..or is it a bit to soon to be thinking that?

Colonial, the world may be self destructing around them but they will do something next summer, the question becomes, what? I say keep it small, just do something! If it becomes to dangerous to do live performances then maybe spend more time in the studio writing new songs. Maybe it's over, but if it is, we probably won't know for at least another nine months. As I have stated before if we don't hear something by May 31, 2012 at the latest then it is probably over. Let's give it until then before we throw in the towel.

They should just celebrate their 50th with a monster anthology that tells the story from beginning to 2011. Include all known video footage with complete shows from every tour possible, all the vids and promos. It's all there. Someone just has to put it all together. That would be enough for me at this point. And a farewell show or shows. No tour. Just the stones. No back up singers and all the pageantry. Just five guys playin their asses off. We all know mick has still got it from his great performance recently. Was it the Grammys ? That was amazing to see him in great form. Maybe a new album. Back to basics. Then call it quits. Preserve the legacy. I love the stones but I think the end is very near.

As far as I can recall the 2002/03 and 2005/7 there has been no official announcements before springtime and a fixed date when tickets go on sale.

So if they really would like to do something, I assume any firm news won't be before next spring anyway.

If not I am fine with it, because I hear already the moaning about Warhorse songs and bad concerts etc etc etc. The last Tina Turner tour was a kind of old lady in high heels tour which just tried to move like a teenie, but barely could stand on her feet. I just don't wanna see any of the Rolling Stones members like this.

The big difference is that Mick Jagger is now involved with another band.
And they are planning to tour.
So, not much room for the RS in the next months.

...then there will be no tour I guess....:-) I personally blieve we have another rather big tour ahead of us, but who knows.

There is no 'rumour' of no tour.

They are NOT touring as far as anyone knows, as they have not announced a tour. Therefore there CANNOT be a rumour of no tour, as no tour has been announced.

THERE ARE rumours, unsubstaniated, that they may tour next year.

If they do tour, or at least annouce it, then those rumours would finally be substantiated.

If they do announce the tour, AT THAT TIME and then only, can we start the official, 'what if they don't tour' rumours.

Beyond boring.
