Searched and didn't see this posted yet. Interesting to hear them playing this in 1977. I learn something new about this band every day!

Interesting to finally hear this. Sounds like the lyrics were pretty much finished then. Perhaps the track was finished for Black And Blue and what's on Tattoo You was not tweaked at all.

Are we ever going to get the full El Mocambo material on a professional release? I would put it pretty high on my wish list. So much scandal intertwined with amazing performance. How did Keith pull it off with so much pressure. "you're crackin' up"!

Since Tattoo You included some old tracks dug up, was this live WORRIED ABOUT YOU performed before or after they recorded the Tattoo You version?

Great to hear, by the way!

Worried About You was recorded in Late 1974 or early 1975 in Munich. I suspect it lost out to Fool To Cry for the 'Mick falsetto on keyboard' track on B&B.

No.

The basic track for 'Worried About You' was recorded in Rotterdam in early '75, with Wayne Perkins on guitar. A take from that session has been widely bootlegged ('Tattoo Too' for example).

It clocks in at around 7:40, has some lyric differences in the 2nd and 3rd verses and in the bridge. Mick calls out the chord changes before each chorus and the guitar solo is a bit different.

They worked on overdubs to the basic track in Paris in summer 1979. The circulating take from this session clocks in at around 7:21 and has an extra 'falsetto' verse in the middle. The song was then edited down to 5:17 for 'Tattoo You'.

Doubt it.

I've only seen a handful of still photos over the years.

One of my "fan" embarrassments is I initially didn't know about any of the "retro" aspects of TATTOO YOU, and I was driving with a high school buddy and playing TATTOO YOU on the car stereo, and my friend who doesn't even like the Rolling Stones (but knew it was an 80's album), said, "This sounds like older Stones than the 1980's." And I said, "Well, it's 80's Stones. They recorded it in the 80's." And he said, "Well, I guess some Stones fans probably liked that return to an older sound."
And I thought, What older sound?

Turns out my friend discerned the TATTOO YOU "history" better than I—the Stones freak— did!

Another example of the wonderful magic Bill Wyman brought to this band. Miss you Bill.

I'm in the minority - but can't stand Mick's falsetto.

Love this version, sounds more 70s r&b with the normal voice, and it has more kick to it.
