The gig at Covent Garden’s Ambassador theatre paid tribute to Ian Stewart in an evening led by Ben Waters’ ABC and D Of Boogie Woogie band featuring Jools Holland and a handful of current and former Stones. Guitarist Mick Taylor, who served between 1969 and 1974 played alongside Ronnie Wood, Charlie Watts and ex-Stone bassist Bill Wyman. Other guests included Mick Hucknall and Shakin’ Stevens.

I was there, both shows. I was convinced The Rolling Stones were history. No gigs since 2007 and it seemed unlikely that they would ever tour again. I thought I was so lucky to see Bill, Charlie, Ronnie and Mick T. together on stage one final time. Little did I know then, that one year later in the O2 Arena I would see The Rolling Stones with Mick Taylor playing Midnight Rambler.

Was there at both show
The most funny part, was between the shows... the place outside is very tiny... And you would see Ronnie at two meters in the street followed by a little crowd, as well as Mick T, followed by another little crowd
