OT: Best blues song ever?

Interesting read. Have the Stones ever done this song or MJ or KR on any blues tribute albums? The web site is pretty cool to explore.

A lot of errors in that article. Especially concerning the Allman Brothers Band.

Great choice, had the honor of watching the brothers perform it at the Beacon a couple of times.

My personal choice is Key to the Highway, I just love that song.

To many to choose and I'm not qualified anyhow. Thanks for the article, dmay.

Results of a google search for "best blues songs"

#1 Result:
100 Greatest Blues Songs - DigitalDreamDoor.com

Sep 1, 2004 - List of the 100 Greatest Blues Songs as compiled by digitaldreamdoor.com

Picked #1: Memphis Blues - W.C. Handy (One Way Out not on list. Neither are the Allman Brothers)

#2 Result:
50 greatest traditional blues songs | Music to die for
[musictodiefor.wordpress.com]
So these songs are 'traditional' in that they represent the forms of blues,

Picked #1: 1 Robert Johnson (1911 – 1938) – Hellhound On My Trail (One Way Out Again not on list. Allman Brothers only mentioned for having re-recorded "Statesboro Blues")

#3 Result:
My 100 Very Best Blues Songs of All Time | Our Great Music ...
mygreatmusicdebate.com/my-top-100-blues-songs-of-all-time/

Picked #1: 1 Hoochie Coochie Man Muddy Waters. (One Way Out again not on list. Allman's have 5 entries on list)

Overall, even though I've been playing the blues for going on 20 years, I'm going to say that latebloomer posted what I think should be my answer: "To many to choose and I'm not qualified anyhow." Great line, latebloomer! thumbs up

Even as I sit here at my desk and just try to think of "my favorite", I can't hardly do it. I don't even want to think about trying to come up with "The Best"

Peace,
Mr DJA

"Best blues song ever? This one : www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAzSvhioo34"

Well, that was certainly relieving. MJ should copy his style. A bone and a snake would be cool props.
