One of the main reasons I've always like The Stones so much is because they're a British Band..its just something about the English,Scottish,Welsh and Irish Bands that im attracted to.What do ya' think it is about British Bands and Musicians that people from all around world have always had a fondness for?

I don't about British exclusively but English speaking ...yeah....It is strange how English speaking bands can and have made it really big in all the foreign speaking European countries, Japan, Latin America but that interest in their music has never been reciprocated.........(on the same scale at least).....

I dont think its that strange, really. Rock n roll originated and prospered in English-speaking countries before being exported worldwide, and as English is a major world language and especially prevalent in the entertainment industry, I guess people who have it as their first language dont feel the need to look elsewhere. That, plus the 'island mentality' we have in the UK where we're notoriously reluctant to learn other languages.
I've always thought that any artist who can connect with an audience who dont share a common language with them is making an impact that's greatly undervalued.
This pic is from an American movie by an American author "One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest" so I don't think Gaz was making a reference to British humor but rather employing it. I do love British, specifically English humor, though, and many bands from Blidy make use of it. The clip above is but one example...Quote

It took me a while to realize (not realise) it, but I've always been more drawn to English music, as opposed to American music.
In that regard, and much to my dismay, I'm a lot like colonial.

Would have agreed 100% with that years ago, mate (obviously its all a matter of taste) but I think the Yanks have sailed past us on that front in the last 10-15 years or so.

Hmmm I think your being too kind there. for example, the Original Office is far superior to the American Version. Recently Ive been watching a BBC show called The IT Crowd that was on a couple of years ago... its really funny and much more original than any American Sit Com I've seen in recent years.
