Passed on yesterday. Known for his megahit Down In The Boondocks. Cool song, but he also did a Bee Gees tune proud with a touch of Southern soul:

He also recorded what was considered, at the time, a suggestive tune about a girl who liked to hang out in the park...

Sad to see this. He is a frequently played artist on the 60's on 6 XM radio.

He was a prominent country act in the mid thru late 80's.

Sorry to lose him.

He's the guy who originally sang "Hush" which had greater traction as a Deep Purple song.
