Girl you're too bad
Girl you're too rude
Everyman I speak to
Says he wants you
Girl you're too bad
Girl you're too rude
Everyman I speak to
Says he wants you

Everywhere
All over the place
Every man, he has
A picture of your face
Hey little girl
Don't you realize
This is a goddamn disgrace

Girl you're too bad
Girl you're too rude
Everyman I speak to
Says he wants you
Girl you're too bad
Girl you're too rude
Everyman I speak to
Says he wants you, yeah

Oh, little girl
You never want me
Tomorrow night you say
You need my key
Hey, little girl
Go and have a ball
You know one day girl
You're bound to fall

Girl you're too bad
Girl you're too rude
Everyman I speak to
Says he wants you
Girl you're too bad
Girl you're too rude
Everyman I speak to
Says he wants you

Girl you're too bad
Girl you're too rude
Everyman I speak to
Says he wants you
Girl you're too bad
Girl you're too rude
Everyman I speak to
Says he wants you

Everywhere
All over the place
Every man, he has

Hey, little girl
Don't you realize
This is a goddamn disgrace

Girl you're too bad
Girl you're too rude
Everyman I speak to
Says he wants you
Girl you're too bad
Girl you're too rude
Everyman I speak to
Says he wants you

Girl you're too bad
Girl you're too rude
Everyman I speak to
Says he wants you

Girl you're too bad
Girl you're too rude
Everyman I speak to

Great, great, great!
What a pity it's on the weak Dirty Work album.

You're probably right........it's always difficult to choose the right players

On Too Rude, I got to play the drums. That was when Charlie was going through a terrible time with Shirley. They were having lots of heavy arguments and so Charlie was often late, or Shirley would come into the studio and forcibly drag him out. On one of those nights Keith said, All right, you're on drums, Ronnie... The drum sound was very dynamic: I ended up sounding like Solomon Burke's drummer. I was very proud of it, actually.

- Ron Wood, 2003

Yeah, I know. But something tells me that he is talking about Sleep Tonight here, as the reggae drums on TR sounds nothing like Solomon Burke's drummer smiling smiley

PS: Not that he does that on Sleep Tonight, either grinning smiley

One of the redeeming songs on Dirty Work. Great reggae cover. But who the hell is Half Pint who did the original version? He never really figured in the UK and I'd never heard of him before this.

And who is it who plays that great reggae guitar - Ronnie or Keith? I'd guess it was Ronnie.

Yeeeoowwwww, this song should come with a warning label.

CAUTION: The over-produced 80s echoing drum sound on this track may cause severe headaches; listen at your own risk.

Maybe there's a nice song lurking underneath, but I find this one unlistenable.

It's perfect. The other perfect number on DW is "Sleep Tonight".
(Ok. plus the "Key To The Highway" piano outro by STU)

The echoing drum sound on that track is marvelous! It couldnt be any better than that. No matter who actually played the drums, he did a great job. "Too Rude" is a gem, a true gem amongst gems.

I love Half Pint's version - I guess he is the "Lindon Roberts" who wrote it?

Here's a visible link:

I'm afraid that doesn't sound like Steve Jordan on drums on the Dirty Work version to me - though I'm no judge, and with all that echo it's hard to tell.

Yes Lindon Roberts and Half Pint are indeed one and the same as you suspect. smiling smiley

I don't have the Dirty Work record handy to check the credits but is Jordan credited with drumming on this track? If not I think without some other reference or source we are doing a bit of a disservice to Ronnie by crediting the drums to Jordan, especially after he is directly quoted as being proud of his drumming on this track.

In the interest of keeping our facts straight like has been recently discussed, of course.

No individual track credits on Dirty Work - "Special Thanks" to Steve Jordan and Anton Fig, so both are drumming somewhere or other.

I actually heard the Winos live version first, and my reaction to hearing it on DW was disappointment. I like the slower tempo better.

Now I know why I don't like the Stones version or the duo Keith/Ronnie man that drum is irritating it's the only thing you hear...pity though should have sounded a much better with a real sounding drum more in the background and the voices and bass more in front of the mix....

If you think "he" sounds like Solomon Burke's drummer on Too Rude you might believe that, yes.

The rest of us who have heard him AND Steve Jordan play might think otherwise.

It might be interesting to hear which track you think Steve Jordan played on DW, if it wasn't this one...

Sometimes it might be wise not to comment on everything you haven't researched, unless you have some new info on this?

Jeesuz, I'll comment how I please, it is just this kind of pretentious crap which keeps people from posting, haven't you been paying attention?

I'm not attached to the outcome, truly, happy for you to convince me otherwise.

EDIT: I stand corrected, you are probably right as the drumming on Sleep Tonight is pretty awful and I can't imagine them allowing Ronnie to play drum on 2 tracks. Thanks Mathijs for your observations.
