O/T Johnny Marr at The Albert Hall, Manchester. Thursday 8th October, 2015.
Hello,
This was a short-notice decision to see Mr Marr play his second show at The Albert Hall- and of course Sod's Law said it would have to clash with Norn Iron's Euro 2016 qualifier against Greece. Still, thanks to the internet I knew that we were doing ok by the time 9pm rolled around and JM and his other three bandmates bounded onstage to a deafening ovation. Seriously, there could only be one other venue in the UK with a more partisan crowd...Windsor Park!
I only knew about a third of the setlist, but it didn't matter...

As you'd expect, the roof was raised as soon as the opening bars of any of the Smiths numbers were played: Johnny Marr knows what punters want and it doesn't appear to bother him to play some of his old band's catalogue...he was beaming at the support and made mention of the love he felt a couple of times.
Although the sound wasn't as great as his talent deserved, his playing is still a joy to hear- you should've heard the exquisite racket he coaxed out of his Jaguar at times. Yep, he really is all that, and at £28 for about 100 minutes you know he isn't about ripping-off his audience either. Good on you!
Cheers,
Simon.
ps here come the noisy, 'orrible photos...
