Great singin and guitar-playing from Ronnie. Also, everybody must be able to see Ronnie's influences from Johnny Thunders both in construction and how the guitar work is done.

Ronnie was influenced by Johnny Thunders? Musically?

Sure you don't mean the other way around? smiling smiley

Buried Alive has an archtypical Ronnie-riff, imo. Funky shit.

Ronnie sure has that punky look there, but it was a general trend, not just something that came from Johnny Thunders. By '78-79, the Stones were influenced by the people they once influenced themselves.

By the way, where the hell was Keith when they did that song? In court?

All guitarists worthy of the name played as Johnny Thunders in 1978-79, whether they knew it or not. The entire guitar arrangement here is typical Johnny ...even if it's naturally in a smaller scale than Johnnys...different medication...grinning smiley

Great video- thanks for posting....saw the Barbarians at the Capital Center, verging on a musical trainwreck at times but loads of fun..of course the notion Ronnie Wood is borrowing anything from Johnny Thunders is nonsense....the other way around perhaps....

Yeah you witnessed the worst gg of the tour. Try the Oakland or Fort Worth tapes for a fix!
