I think alot of people would agree that the sixties and seventies were the stones classic era. Everything after thus pales in comparison.I think this is unfair, as I think the stones are still killing it to this day. But just for example I made a best of list for a friend, of the 1980s stones songs to check out:
1. Dance
2. Shes so cold
3. Emotional rescue
4. All about you
5. Start me up
6. Hang fire
7. Slave
8. Little t&a
9. Worried about you
10. Tops
11. No use in crying
12. Waiting on a friend
13. Undercover of the night
14. She was hot
15. Too much blood
16. One hit to the body
17. Fight
18. Sad sad sad
19. Mixed emotions
20. Rock and a hard place
21. Almost hear you sigh
22. Slipping away
While I wouldnt compare 80s stones to 60s or 70s stones, I think this best of list would compare well to almost any 80s acts best of list. Thoughts?

Interesting list; I would remove:[*] 'Emotional Rescue'
[*] 'Hang Fire'
[*] 'Worried About You'
[*] 'She Was Hot'
[*] 'Sad, Sad, Sad'
[*] 'Rock and a Hard Place'
And add:[*] 'Down in the Hole'
[*] 'Neighbours'
[*] 'Tie You Up (The Pain of Love)'
[*] 'Harlem Shuffle'
[*] 'Dirty Work'
[*] 'Hold on to Your Hat'
[*] 'Continental Drift'

80s was the worst decade in popular music history. I think the stones in hindsight did pretty well.
