I remember 6PR, the local Rock station in Perth had a thing called the Power Play, otherwise known as the PerHour Play... Said as the P'hour Play.

Every hour for the day on a weekend they would play the same song.

Normally, the ONE song. But the weekend Jumping Jack Flash was released and played on their p'hour play... they rotated JJF and Child of the Moon.

I was in heaven. Out of the little mono AM radio came these two slabs of raw, great, rock. The Stones had somehow changed up a couple of gears in their creativity. Beautiful stuff.

It's the song that splits the old Stones from the new Stones.

24FPS...Absolutely. I could not agree more. IMHO JJF was the turning point when they realized they could record what THEY wanted to record, not what the record company wanted them to record. They took off from JJF and never looked back. I think JJF may have been the first rock song to be made into a rock video. Crudely shot and poorly lit by today's standards. But a first. If I'm wrong I'm sure an IORRian(s) will set me straight.

It peaked at #1 on Cashbox, but the oficial one is Billboard so it peaked at #3 there, but it was #1 on all over Europe.

If there is a favorite of mine this would be it. I never get tired of hearing it, any version. Though the studio and video shoot versions are my favorites.
