I am new here today. I don't know how to do periscope. Would someone mind explaining it to us novices so we all can enjoy.

Then maybe we can use this thread as the show goes on. So as not to block the comments from others, while telling us where to go on periscope.

Basically, it's a live video streaming of whatever you want to stream. Anytime someone posts a link of it, you can watch it on your PC.

Thankfully they finally released the Periscope app for Android before Columbus. Now the rest of us can watch as well!

You don't need the app to watch, just an URL to the feed. The App only allows you to broadcast.

Do you have a link for that vid, STG? I've read about such Periscope broadcasts by the Stones camp but can never find them to watch. Any help appreciated

You do if you are not near a computer. I was traveling for a video shoot during San Diego. Android phones can't stream the web link, hence the need for the app.

I didn't know they had an app now for non apple products. Thanks for that info.

I still don't know how to do it. I am on a PC and have a Samsung Galaxy 4 phone

If you are on Android just download the periscope app. If on desktop, no need for the app. Periscope links will appear on Twitter. Someone will post on here whenever a feed pops up but no guarantees that anyone will use the app or not. We'll have to wait and see.

Bottom line, the feeds go live to Twitter, click the link and watch poor quality audio and video live!

So you are saying its not worth doing it?

It's still fun to watch! Just making a joke. Very fun to see how people enjoy the show!

I run my iPad through Apple TV, then the show is on my tv and run through my stereo, hoping for some decent streams.

Not a great view (although she's on the floor), but the sound quality is good, maybe better than the other ones.

Still cant get when I click on the links it says for video please use Chrome safari or firefox. I do not know what this is.

Those are internet browsers. I guess it doesn't work with microsoft internet explorer. I'm using Google Chrome and it works fine.

One of the feeders indicated reception was also an issue at that venue.

I did notice some of the feeds seemed to be higher bandwidth too, better audio and video. The better ones were also delayed on the receiving end. Not sure if it is an option or just a function of the device you're using. Of course we would appreciate the best quality possible.

I posted this in the Minneapolis thread: Very impressed with periscope. Thank you for the links and thanks to the bitcasters. I gotta hand it to the bitcasters who faithfully held their phones unbelievably still for such long stretches.

I'm down front at a show next week. I'm tempted to set up a periscope account, but I can't see how I'd be able to stand still enough for video. How do they do it?
