With a bad Oirish accent to boot! I agree that DiCaprio has lost something from his younger roles (he was astonishing in "Gilbert Grape" - even drawing raves from Anthony Hopkins). But what he's lost in sensitivity, he's gained in volume. Starting with "The Beach" he's become loud and overly brash. I think the jealous sniping from his "Titanic" stardom maybe led him to go too macho.

I totally disagree with you Tatters on Gangs of New York. Yes, Daniel Day Lewis was great, but so was DiCaprio. He played the part to perfection. And they were totally different roles with different motivations.
